Wompatuck in the Fall

Yesterday, Mom took me back to Wompatuck. It's been a while! It's such a beautiful site, we were both very happy to see it in the fall. We met a new friend, a black lab named Jura. Jura was more interested in leaning on Mom and getting scritches than in playing with me, but that's okay. I love him anyway. I love everyone except horses. And zombies.
This was our first sight upon embarking on the path from the car.
Path.
Another path view.
Me!
I'm such a happy dog!
Mom says she had a bush like this in the front yard growing up.
She associates it with her mom, although she's not sure why.
Stroll!
Another path.
Bridge.
Smile!
Huh. According to the smell, this fence post is the property of Jura the Dog.
Big smile!
This was just a really pretty little glade or whatever. Mom is weird, she really likes this stuff.
Rock with a thing on it.
Look how good I am, not menacing the thing!
I wonder what the thing is.
?
Lonely little bunker.
Dog going down the hill!
Among the leaves.
You take too many pictures, Mom!
Brackish water - my favorite! Mom wouldn't let me go for a swim since I had a bath yesterday.
There are no wires connected to this.
Pretty scene.

Wompatuck in the Fall

Yesterday Mom and I went back to Wompatuck State Park. We haven't been there in a while - Mom was waiting for all the kids to go back to school, so it wouldn't be so crowded. Here are some pictures!
Here is me not eating the daisies.
I'm so happy to be back here!
I wanted to jump in, but it was too high.
These leaves are turning yellow.
Mom is sad that it's already fall, but on the plus side she's got apples and pomegranates again. And there will be more red in the future. Mom likes red.
See? Red.
No, Mom, I'm not coming back up there. You come down here! (This didn't work, for the record. But I tried.)
Okay, I'll come back up.
My leash got tangled near the brook a little further down, and Mom had to come untangle me. This is the view from where I got stuck.
Mom wouldn't let me go toward the brook if there wasn't a very clear path anymore after that. Here I am on a bridge. I'm so proud of myself, because you know I'm scared of bridges!
Mom just thought this view was pretty.
I'm coming back!
Into the brook!
Stick!
Sniff sniff sniff.
What's that over there?
Or up here?
Another pretty view.
I heard the roaring water again.
I look so happy when I scratch!
Caution tape? I wanted to go under it, but Mom said she'd cuss and swear if someone else did that, got into trouble and then needed taxpayer dollars for a rescue. I didn't understand that. I'm a dog.
Leftover from the zombies.
I'm drinking zombie water!
More debris.

Wompatuck

Yesterday Mom and I went back to Womapatuck State Park for the first time in months. Unfortunately, a lot of groups of young people on bicycles were there too. They were plenty well behaved, but it still meant that Mom had to keep me on a very short leash for a lot of our hike. That isn't much fun for either of us, so we didn't stay very long.
Hey, I know this place! I've been here before! I love it here!
What kind of berries are these, I wonder?
Ooo, that feels good.
I love a good scratch.
Hey, are those grapes?
They are grapes!
Now Mom and I are both happy! Of course, I'm not supposed to eat grapes.
Now, something seems to be missing.
I'm sure that there was some nice brackish water around here somewhere.
It was brackish and brown. Have you seen it?
Did it go over here?
Well, the ground here is damp, so there was some water here at some point.
Where did it go? I really miss it!
I'm coming, Mom!
Maybe it's over here?
Nope.
Okay, we're on a bridge. Brackish water I can't access doesn't help me, now does it?
Finally!
Hey, I heard something!
Water bugs.
More berries, just different colors.
Mom still says I shouldn't eat them.
You knew Mom would find a pretty fungus eventually, didn't you?
